About the EMA Green Seal |
|||||||||||||||||||||
The Environmental Media Association created the EMA Green Seal to simultaneously promote sustainable production methods and highlight those in the entertainment industry who’ve made strides in incorporating such practices. Our program recognizes green film and television productions as well as award shows and galas. The EMA Green Seal covers all facets of a production and provides a practical and comprehensive guide to environmentally responsible filmmaking and event planning. In each area of focus, the criteria include specific environmental initiatives in order to help producers prioritize where to focus their greening efforts. The EMA Green Seal is designed to be flexible enough that any production can potentially qualify, regardless of budget or size. |

A set visit to the primary production location(s) is not required for recognition to be conferred, but it does carry a significant point value that can be advantageous for those productions willing and able to pursue it. The visit allows us to see first-hand those practices put in place and to interview representatives of the production. In order to apply for an EMA Green Seal recognition, please fill out the “Award Criteria” tab on the “EMA Green Seal Application.” The application lists each specific environmental initiative that EMA Green Seal will evaluate. Please also refer to the “Introduction” tab on the EMA Green Seal Application for specific instructions on properly completing and submitting for recognition. Application Timeline: For recognition at the 2010 EMA Awards please complete and submit the application before September 6, 2010. For those productions planning a site visit, please allow for two or three weeks of lead-time in order to schedule. Download and submit the EMA Green Seal application » |
