HOLLYWOOD, Calif.-The Day After Tomorrow, Without A Trace, The Simpsons, Braceface, EnviroMysteries, Joan of Arcadia, My Wife & Kids, The Meatrix, and The Corporation were winners at the 14th Annual Environmental Media Awards held on Wednesday, November 17th at The Ebell of Los Angeles. Celebrities from film, television and music were among the more than 800 guests at the gala event sponsored by Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. The Environmental Media Association (EMA) Awards recognize the creative teams behind television, film and music productions that expand public awareness of environmental issues.

The prestigious Board of Directors Ongoing Commitment Award was presented to Daryl Hannah. The Ongoing Commitment Award is EMA's highest honor. Hannah is an environmental activist who walks the walk, by living on solar power, cultivating organic gardens, adopting unwanted and abused animals, and driving clean burning bio-diesel vehicles.

The Missions in Music Award was given to the dedicated humanitarian and environmentalist, Willie Nelson. This highly respected musician received the honor for his passionate take on activism and dedicated commitment to family farms and environmental causes. Willie has used his talent and influence to protect our natural resources, strengthen family farming communities and to promote sustainable and organic farming.

A special Community Service Award was given to KNBC (Channel 4), Fritz Coleman, and the "4 Our Planet" campaign. The campaign was implemented to bring environmental issues and awareness to the forefront of KNBC viewers' collective consciousness. The segments examine numerous environmental issues, provide information on subjects like the dangers of storm drain pollution, the proper recycling of used motor oil and computers, as well as offering environmental lifestyle and factoid tips for living a "greener" life.

Without A Trace "Exposure" won for TV Episodic Drama. The Simpsons "The Fat And The Furriest" was the winner in the TV Episodic Comedy category. Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, Beau Bridges, Dean Cain, Keith Carradine, Enrico Colantoni, Dana Delany, Laura Dern, Andy Dick, Miguel Ferrer, Scott Foley, Soleil Moon Frye, Linda Gray, Ben Harper, Woody Harrelson, Peter Horton, Rachel Hunter, Joshua Jackson, Ravi Kapoor, James Lesure, Jon Lovitz, Danica McKellar, Wendie Malick, Poppy Montgomery, David O. Russell, Sara Rue, Jason Schwartzman, Alia Shawkat, Henry Simmons, Kimberly Stewart, Jeffrey Tambor, Julie Warner and Constance Zimmer were some of the people attending the star-studded Awards Ceremony.

Unlike any other Hollywood Award Ceremony, this one was the merging of culinary excellence with organic responsibility. In keeping with EMA's commitment to honor and respect the planet, the dinner was an excellent organic experience prepared by LA's top celebrity chefs. The talents of Akasha Richmond (Akasha's Visionary Cuisine), Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger (Border Grill & Ciudad), Mark Peel (Campanile), Louis Pechan (The Ebell of Los Angeles), Benjamin Ford (Ford's Filling Station), Suzanne Tracht (Jar), Joe Miller (Joe's), Ann Gentry (Real Food Daily), Christopher Blobaum (Wilshire), Govind Armstrong (Table 8) and Jim Whitney (Whole Foods Market) complimented the celebration for the entertainment and environmental communities. The chefs' menus were prepared with food donated by Earthbound Farm, Organic Prairie Family of Farms, Organic Valley Family of Farms, and Whole Foods Market. The event continued EMA's tradition of a hip, fun scene that also educates and inspires.

The EMA Awards Ceremony was also a showcase for all things green --- from an environmentally themed silent auction, to the keepsake Tribute/Green Business Journals on 100% recycled paper with soy ink, and the use of cloth banners and signs. While elegant, the star-studded event succeeded in incorporating environmental concerns whenever possible. The Los Angeles Conservation Corps facilitated recycling & resource recovery. A concerted effort was made by all to conserve, reuse, renew and recycle. All food items not served were donated to Angel Harvest, Inc. and distributed to local shelters. A special lane of traffic was created in front of the venue to accommodate the many presenters and other attendees who arrived in a Toyota Prius.
