PROGRAM CALENDAR 2008

Annual EMA Awards Broadcast via Network TV
The EMA Awards recognize film and television programs that convey environmental messages in the most entertaining and innovative ways.  We honor producers, directors, writers, actors and musicians who actively express concern for the environment through their productions.  This annual recognition serves to inspire other members of the entertainment community to use environmental themes to educate and motivate the public.

EMA/E!/Weinstein Company “Golden Green” Golden Globes Viewing and After Party

Partnering with E! Entertainment and the Weinstein Company, we hold a completely sustainable, organic gala on site the evening of the Golden Globes.

EMA Executive/Corporate Board Meetings

EMA has assembled leaders of many of the most influential global corporations in an effort to work together with the corporate world to effect consumer behavior to become a more sustainable model.

EMA Green Seal Program
The EMA Green Seal Award debuted at the 2004 EMA Awards honoring five recipients. The goal is to inform and motivate series television and feature films to earn enough "eco-points" to be awarded the EMA Green Seal (for adhering to a realistic list of environmental guidelines through all phases of production).  We have an Office EMA Green Seal program as well to offer solutions to entertainment offices.  This year we will establish a common standard of what a “green production” entails by recognizing environmental leadership within the motion picture and television industry, highlighting strategies for sustainable behaviors and practices to be used within production (water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and on-location environmental practices) and ultimately having the EMA Green Seal on all credits and one sheets.  We’ll provide real world economic implications of recommendations, quantify and emphasize any cost savings and/or environmental benefits while accomplishing this with an objective certification scheme requiring documentation audited by a third party.

One-On-One Briefings
EMA visits feature film and television producers in personal, one-on-one meetings.  We "pitch" specifically tailored story ideas, character arcs and set dressing in an unobtrusive manner to subtly weave environmental themes within existing story lines.

EMA Exclusive Dinner Parties/Info Salons
EMA hosts periodic gatherings of specific small groups and invites leading environmental speakers to educate and motivate the attendees to create a greater understanding and awareness of how their actions can create concrete change.  We have assembled leaders in the Young Hollywood celebrity world as well Young Celebrity families.

BP Solar Neighbors Program

The Solar Neighbors Program brings together celebrities and low-income families in Los Angeles in a unique partnership that enables deserving families to utilize the clean energy of the sun to reduce their energy bills.  A BP Solar system is donated to a family every time one is purchased by a celebrity.  Participating celebrities include: Ed Begley Jr., Don Cheadle, John Densmore, Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman, Will Ferrell, Ben Goldhirsh, Larry Hagman, Daryl Hannah, Buck Henry, Eric and Tania Idle, Wendie Malick, Anthony Kiedis, Rob Thomas, Edward Norton, Brad Pitt, Alicia Silverstone, Tom Hanks, Jack Johnson, Owen Wilson, Robin Williams and more.

EMA, The Next Generation… “gen e”
EMA produces both print and electronic Public Service Announcements (PSA’s) as well as programs (both branded and unbranded) tailored specifically to this demographic featuring stars of the "next generation" (Rosario Dawson, Cameron Diaz, Sienna Miller, Alanis Morissette, Edward Norton, Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Richie, Rob Schneider, Amy Smart, David Spade, Amber Tamblyn and others).  Through this program, young, successful talent between the ages of 18-35, motivate and influence the youth of America with a call to action on environmental issues.
